Sennen no Inori

She tries to touch his hand before she departs from the world.

"Sennen no Inori" is a major play of the joint productions of Sujaku Gekidan, Tachibana Kikutaro Gekidan and Gekidan Akatsuki. This play has no words, which makes it more understandable to non-Japanese speakers. This play was toured around Japan and in Hawaii.

The couple trying to ease each other's worries as they struggled through their escape.
Sennen no Inori involves around a lot of characters from the start. Each character has a prayer and most of the time holds a red pin wheel which can interpret as a symbol of their prayers which they want to be answered.

The play stars Taichi Saotome (Zatoichi co-star, colleague and real-life bestfriend of Daigoro) as the female lead and Daigoro Tachibana as the male lead. The story is about a couple who had a forbidden love. Like Romeo and Juliet, Daigoro and Taichi are star-crossed lovers who tried to fight all the obstacles the world has to offer. Though their story seemed to end like a tragedy, unlike Romeo and Juliet, the heavens granted them a new life of freedom and happiness. The ending showed an answered prayer among all the prayers asked within the play which all the play's characters are trying to achieve. Haruki Misaki and Daigoro Tachibana played the male lead alternately. The ending showed an answered prayer among all the prayers asked within the play which all the play's characters are trying to achieve.

The string of videos are the compilation of their performances throughout 2007-2008, including their Hawaii show. Enjoy!
